Agentic AI Engineer

Calaven is hiring: Agentic AI Engineer.

Full-time, permanent employment. Fully remote worldwide, including Nigeria. Base salary: NGN 1,800,000 per month.

Build agent-based applications that combine language models, tools and relevant context. Your work covers the path from a defined task to tested behavior, with attention to failure handling and appropriate human review.

Responsibilities

• Translate task requirements into agent workflows with clear inputs, tool permissions and review points.
• Integrate data sources and external services, with reliable handling of errors and incomplete context.
• Develop evaluations for task completion, response quality and predictable failure cases.
• Investigate unexpected behavior and improve implementations through debugging, testing and code review.

Requirements

• Practical software development skills and experience integrating language models through APIs.
• Ability to reason about tool use, retrieval, state and access boundaries.
• Experience designing tests or evaluations and working through unreliable outputs.
• Clear written communication about technical choices, progress and limitations.
