The Elastic Search AI Platform, used by more than 50% of the Fortune 500, brings together the precision of search and the intelligence of AI to enable everyone to accelerate the results that matter.

About the Role

Elastic is looking for a Marketing Strategy and Planning Specialist to join the Global Growth and Experiences Marketing team in Canada. Reporting to the Head of Strategy and Planning (Chief of Staff) and working closely with the VP and senior leaders, you will be the connective tissue of the department, keeping budgets, programs, and communications running smoothly across a distributed team.

This is an early-career role. The team values curiosity, organization, and follow-through, and relevant experience can include internships. The role is remote within Canada, with a preference for Mountain or Pacific time zones.

What You Will Be Doing

Budget and Financial Operations

  • Track spend against plan for the global growth and experiential marketing budget, reconcile actuals, and flag variances.
  • Partner with Finance and regional teams on forecasting, accruals, and quarterly reviews.
  • Maintain budget summaries and trackers that leaders can rely on.

Team Culture and Connection

  • Own team culture programs, including all-hands meetings, from agenda to follow-up.
  • Create moments that bring a distributed team together.

Project and Program Coordination

  • Run special projects for the group and the VP from kickoff to completion.
  • Spot risks and gaps early, and escalate with a recommendation.

Communication and Executive Support

  • Draft emails, updates, and presentations for the team and its leaders.
  • Support business reviews, QBRs, and leadership meetings.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion, and help keep the team’s operating rhythm and calendars on track.

Process and Tools

  • Work in spreadsheets and team tools, and learn new ones quickly.

What You Bring

  • Experience in project coordination, program management, marketing operations, finance operations, events, or internal communications. Internships count.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple projects at once.
  • Persistence and good judgment, including knowing when to escalate.
  • Discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Comfort with numbers and spreadsheets, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Warmth and people skills, with a collaborative and proactive approach.
  • You are located in Canada.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with events or all-hands programs.
  • Background in B2B or SaaS, marketing, field marketing, or events.
  • Familiarity with G-Suite, Zoom, Slack, Workday Strategic Sourcing, or Allocadia.

Compensation

The salary range for this role in Canada is $68,200 to $107,900 CAD.

This is a posting for an existing vacancy.

Benefits

  • Competitive pay based on the work you do here and not your previous salary
  • Health coverage for you and your family in many locations
  • Ability to craft your calendar with flexible locations and schedules for many roles
  • Generous number of vacation days each year
  • Donation and service matching up to $2,000 (or local currency equivalent)
  • Up to 40 hours each year to use toward volunteer projects you love
  • A minimum of 16 weeks of parental leave
